| Abstract | The purpose of research is to study the question of the selection origin of fruit crops, condition and prospects of domestic and foreign their breeding. Quest – based on analysis of industry-specific scientific literature, documentaries and archival data, objectively recreate historically conditioned formation of selection of fruit crops. To analyze the state register of plant varieties that are suitable for dissemination in Ukraine in 2013 for these crops. Analysis of the State register of plant varieties that are suitable for dissemination in Ukraine for 2013 shows that 90 apple varieties occupy an important place among the fruit crops, 70 of which are of domestic breeding, and 14 — foreign, pear common — domestic breeding — 62 varieties and two – foreign, quince – 12 varieties only of domestic breeding, cherry varieties represented by 68 domestic and two foreign varieties; common peach — 70 domestic varieties, grapes — 75 domestic and three foreign varieties of selection. | ||
